Blackwood86 is made up of a core team of senior marketing professionals who have spent many years working both ‘client side’ and ‘agency side’ for a variety of leading global organisations. We have a real understanding what is important to a business and what drives results.
Outside of the core team we have a number of associates that offer specialist services across a huge range of marketing related areas. From market research and data analysis and modern digital marketing. Right through to high level strategic consultancy on brand or customer proposition.
Martin White
Founding partner
Martin has thirty years’ experience delivering value-enhancing B2B and B2C marketing programmes for blue-chip companies and private equity-backed start-ups. As a Chief Marketing Officer and a Consultant, Martin has a proven track record of understanding an organisation’s challenges and aspirations, then developing a compelling marketing strategy to complement business objectives.
A certified NPS practitioner and leading voice in customer experience, Martin advocates effective customer engagement to increase brand consideration and business performance.
Alistair Simmonds
Founding partner
As a founding partner of Blackwood86 Alistair has been a marketing professional for over 20 years and has seen a lot of change in that time. Working for and alongside some of the largest UK brands, he has a wide range of strategic and tactical marketing experience. From using traditional targeted direct mail through to TV advertising and then onto current digital marketing and PR channels.
Alistair has gained a wealth of experience in proposition development, customer experience and research. Although the world is changing he believes the fundamentals of knowing your customer, creating effective propositions and persuasive communications remain the same.
Andy Tye
Associate - Design director
Andy is an associate member of Blackwood86 and specialises in brand identity and communication design, from origination, through to working with existing brand guidelines, ensuring on-brand continuity and considered marketing execution. Over the last 30 years he has homed his design skills at some of London’s leading advertising and design agencies and has also worked client side in a marketing design role capacity. He has won a collection of prestigious design awards including a Silver D&AD, Creative Circle and Cannes Gold Lion.
Andy brings a wealth of experience to the Blackwood86 offer having worked on a varied and wide range of Blue-chip brand including J.P Morgan, Barclays, Channel Capital, British Airways, Cadbury’s, Rowntree’s and Waitrose Ocado to name a few.
Elaine Webb
Associate - BRAND STRATEGY
Elaine has over 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, working as an international planning director for agencies such as Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi, WPP’s The&Partnership, across Los Angeles and London, working on a range of B2C, B2B, and professional services brands such as, Mattel, Flexjet, Lexus, Toyota, and PWC.
Since 2019, Elaine has been working as a freelance brand strategy consultant, hired to support various agencies in taking on long-term brand strategy and brand architecture development projects primarily, in addition to quick turn-around desk research, competitive audits, stakeholder and audience research, for brands such as EY, MS Amlin, Solmax (Global Geosynthetics Manufacturer) and Dencora (UK Real Estate Developer).
We work in partnership with a few specialised agencies so that we can offer clients a holistic solution to their specific challenge
